This article explains how to update public holidays in RosterElf each year. RosterElf automatically updates standard public holidays at the end of each year. If you use custom public holidays, you need to make updates manually. This guide will show you how to fix public holidays across your sites, ensuring payroll and budgeting stay accurate.
1. Updating Standard Public Holidays
1.1. RosterElf automatically updates standard public holidays at the end of each year.
1.2. If your sites use standard public holidays, you don’t need to take any action.
1.3. Simply wait for the system to reflect the updated public holidays for the new year.
2. Updating Custom Public Holidays
2.1. If you use custom public holidays, follow these steps to update them.
2.1. Revert to Standard Public Holidays
2.1.1. Follow this option to reset your calendar to standard public holidays:
2.1.1.1. Update Public Holidays from Settings
2.1.1.1.1. Go to Settings from the top menu.
2.1.1.1.2. Click on Payroll from the dropdown.
2.1.1.1.3. Select the relevant site from the Sites Linked widget on the right.
2.1.1.1.4. Scroll to the Public Holiday widget at the bottom of the page, and hover over the calendar. Click on the x symbol to revert to standard public holidays.

2.2.1. Once you revert to the standard public holidays, follow these steps to add or remove custom public holidays:

2.2.1.1.3. Select the correct Country and State, and click Add.
2.2.1.1.4. To delete a public holiday, click the x and follow the prompts.
2.2.1.1.5. To add a public holiday, enter the Name and Date, then click Add.

2.3.1. Follow this option if you prefer updating public holidays from the sites menu:
2.3.1.1. Revert to Standard Holidays from Sites
2.3.1.1.1. Click on Sites from the top menu.
2.3.1.1.2. Select the site you want to update.
2.3.1.1.3. In the pop-up window, click on Public Holidays from the top menu.
2.3.1.1.4. Click on I want to use the standard holiday list at the bottom right.
2.3.1.1.5. Click on I want to customise my public holidays on the bottom right.
2.3.1.1.6. Select the correct Country and State.
2.3.1.1.7. Click Import to apply the standard public holidays.
