Introduction to Sites

This article is designed for: User Type: Admins or Managers Device: Web Browser

RosterElf allows you to create as many sites as your business requires, and sites are not limited to separate physical locations. For example, you could use Sites to separate departments or teams at the same location.

Geographical locations

You could have two separate physical locations set up as different sites within RosterElf to differentiate between them for ease of use.

Departments

The other method is setting up your various departments as sites. For example, a restaurant might have the Front of House, Administration, and Kitchen as separate sites within RosterElf.

So why set up multiple sites?

1. Budget separately - You can publish each site individually and keep track of each site's financial performance.

2. Management - Each site can have managers who can roster and approve changes for only that part of the business. Creating separate sites is a great way to divide the responsibility amongst a group of managers in a large business. It also means that managers can be assigned if you have two businesses on one account, so they can access the roster and approve payroll for one location but not the other.

3. Filling shifts - If your sites are separate geographical locations, having different sites will prevent accidentally rostering an employee to work at a site they don't work.
