1. Deleting Staff in RosterElf


This section guides you through the process of deleting a staff member in RosterElf. Deleting a staff member will remove them from your active roster. If they have any future shifts or approved leave, you'll need to address those before completing the deletion.

1.1. Steps to Delete a Staff Member

1.1.1: Click on the Staff tab.

2. Reactivating Staff in RosterElf

1. How do I delete a staff member in RosterElf?
To delete a staff member, go to the Staff tab, hover over the employee, and click the X button. Confirm the deletion in the popup. Ensure you manage any future shifts or approved leave before finalising the process.

2. What happens to future shifts when a staff member is deleted?
When you delete a staff profile, any future shifts assigned to them remain on the roster and the name appears in red to flag the issue. To convert those shifts into open shifts, open the shift, tick Mark as open, tick Apply to all future shifts, then save. Finally, republish the roster so the newly open shifts can be reassigned and you avoid scheduling gaps.

3. Can I reactivate a deleted staff member in RosterElf?
Yes, you can reactivate a staff member by clicking the Staff tab, selecting the Inactive button, hovering over the desired staff member, and clicking the green tick. Confirm the reactivation in the popup.

4. Will reactivating a staff member restore their previous shifts?
Reactivating a staff member allows them to be scheduled for new shifts, but it does not automatically restore shifts they had before being deleted. You will need to add them back to any required rosters manually.

5. Do I need to remove approved leave before deleting a staff member?
Yes, any approved leave will be removed when you delete a staff member. Make sure to manage or review their leave status before proceeding with deletion to avoid loss of leave records.
