Publishing and Managing Shifts in RosterElf

In RosterElf, each shift is published independently within a roster period, offering flexibility for adjusting and managing rosters over time. This article explains how to publish shifts, add draft shifts, and manage the publishing process without impacting already published shifts. This approach lets you build rosters with ease, allowing room for changes or full rebuilds as your staffing needs change. By following this guide, you’ll understand how to toggle between shift types, delete published shifts if needed, and confidently transition draft shifts into your active roster.

1. Publishing Shifts in Bulk

RosterElf allows bulk publishing for shifts, but any additional draft shifts published later will not affect those already active. This section covers how to publish shifts in bulk and explains how to handle any new shifts added after the initial publication.

1.1 Bulk Publishing Process

1.1.1 Go to the roster period where you want to publish shifts.

1.1.2 Select multiple draft shifts you wish to publish.

1.1.3 Confirm your selection to publish these shifts at once.

1.2 Adding Draft Shifts Post-Publication

1.2.1 Navigate to the roster and add any new draft shifts.

1.2.2 These shifts will remain drafts until you choose to publish them.

1.2.3 Publish these additional shifts if ready; previously published shifts remain unaffected.

2. Managing Shifts with Shift Type Filter

RosterElf provides shift type filter options to manage and view different shift statuses. This section explains how to toggle between all, draft, and published shifts to keep track of your roster changes and plan a full roster rebuild if necessary.

2.1 Using Shift Type Filter Options

2.1.1 Access the shift type filter to view shifts by status.

2.1.2 Select All, Draft, or Published to view shifts accordingly.

2.1.3 Use the filter to focus on draft shifts as you refine your roster.

2.2 Rebuilding Your Roster with Draft Shifts

2.2.1 Prepare a new roster by saving shifts as drafts.

2.2.2 Review and finalise the draft roster before making it live.

2.2.3 When ready, delete all published shifts in the roster.

2.2.4 Publish the draft shifts to activate your updated roster.
