How to Clock In/Out Using the Smartphone App


This article explains how to clock in for your shift using the smartphone app. Clocking in ensures your work hours are accurately recorded for payroll purposes. You will learn how to locate your shift, clock in, manage prompts like location tolerance, comments for lateness, and photo verification, as well as how to take breaks and clock out. This guide helps you clock in efficiently while meeting any system requirements set by your employer.


1. Accessing Your Shift Details


Access your shift details to confirm your schedule and prepare for clocking in.

1.1 Viewing Today’s Shift Information

Follow these steps to view your shift details:

1.1.1 Tap My Shifts at the bottom of your screen.

1.1.2 Go to the Today tab to view your shift information.

1.1.3 Review details like the site, position, and start and finish times.


2. Clocking In for Your Shift


Clock in to start recording your work hours.

2.1 Starting Your Shift

Follow these steps to clock in:

2.1.1 Tap Clock In when your shift is about to begin.

2.1.2 Ensure your GPS location is within the required tolerance. You cannot clock in if you're outside this area.

Note: If you are using a site tablet instead of a smartphone app, refer to Clocking In/Out using Time Clock on the Site's Tablet for guidance.

2.2 Adding Comments if Late

If you're late for your shift:

2.2.1 A prompt will appear asking for a comment.

2.2.2 Enter the reason for your delay.

2.2.3 Submit the comment for manager review during payroll processing.

2.3 Taking a Photo for Verification

If your employer requires photo verification:

2.3.1 The app will prompt you to take a selfie.

2.3.2 Follow the instructions to capture the photo.

2.3.3 The photo will be stored for payroll records.

2.4 Confirmation Message

2.4.1 Await the confirmation message.


3. Taking a Break


Follow these steps to take a break during your shift:

3.1 Starting Your Break

3.1.1 Once clocked in, click on Start Break from the My Shifts - Today view.

3.1.2 Follow all prompts, including taking a selfie if required.

3.1.3 Ensure a confirmation message appears.

3.2 Ending Your Break

3.2.1 Once your break is done, click on End Break.

3.2.2 Follow the same prompts as above, including taking a selfie if required.

3.2.3 Ensure a confirmation message appears.


4. Clocking Out


Follow these steps to clock out at the end of your shift:

4.1 Click on Clock Out.

4.2 If prompted, add a comment explaining why you are clocking out early.

4.3 If prompted, take a selfie for verification purposes.

4.4 Await the clock-out confirmation message to ensure the process is complete.
