How to Add a Shift in the Roster Menu
This guide explains how to add a shift using the Roster menu in the RosterElf app. Following these steps ensures you can easily create and publish shifts for your employees. By the end of this guide, you’ll know how to set up a shift, assign it to a staff member, and publish it without errors.
1. Access the Roster Menu
This section explains how to access the Roster menu and navigate to the date you want to schedule a shift.
1.1. Tap the Roster menu at the bottom of your screen.
1.2. The roster will default to today’s date.
1.3. Use the < > buttons to scroll to past or future rosters.
2. Add a Shift
Here’s how to add a new shift, select times, and assign an employee.
2.1. Tap the Plus (+) button in the top right corner of the screen.
2.2. Tap the Select Start Time box and choose the shift's start time.
2.3. Tap the Select Finish Time box and choose the shift's end time.
2.4. Proceed through each box to:
2.4.1. Select Site: Choose the location for the shift.
2.4.2. Select Position: Assign the job role for the shift.
2.4.3. Select Employee: Assign the shift to an employee.
2.4.3.1. Available staff members will appear green.
2.4.3.2. A warning will appear if you attempt to roster an unavailable staff member.
3. Publish the Shift
This section covers the final step of publishing the shift so it’s visible to your staff.
3.1. Tap the Publish button in the top right corner of the screen.
3.2. Confirm by tapping Publish Shift to finalise the schedule.
