How to Record Sick Leave in RosterElf Time Clock


This article explains how managers can record an employee's sick leave directly using RosterElf's Time Clock. When an employee calls in sick, you can easily flag the shift for accurate payroll processing later. By following these steps, you ensure the absence is recorded properly, streamlining payroll and maintaining accurate records.

1. Record sick leave via Time Clock


This section guides you through recording an employee's sick leave using the Time Clock. Following these steps ensures the shift is flagged with a Sick status, visible on the main screen and during payroll processing.


1.1 Select the employee’s record


1.1.1 Open the Time Clock and find the employee's shift on the main screen.

1.1.2 Tap the employee’s name to select their record.


1.2 Record the sick leave


1.2.1 Tap Record Sick Employee.


1.3 Verify manager identity


1.3.1 Choose your name from the list of managers displayed.

1.3.2 Enter your RosterElf password.


1.4 Add comments


1.4.1 Leave a comment explaining the sick leave (e.g., reason or follow-up notes).

1.4.2 Tap Submit to confirm the record.


1.5 Confirm sick leave status


1.5.1 Wait for a confirmation message indicating the shift is recorded as sick.

1.5.2 Check the main shift view to ensure a grey Sick banner now appears on the shift.
